Toros announce date and location changes for the regular season home opener
Mark your calendars, San Antonio Toros fans, as the team has announced changes for the regular season home opener versus the Tall City Black Gold.
The Toros first home game will now be played on June 14 at 7:00 P.M. In addition, the game will not be played at the Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium at the University of the Incarnate Word.
The new location will be at the Wheatley Heights Sports Complex, 200 Noblewood Dr., 78220.
The Toros showcased their winning potential this season in a 71-0 rout versus the Hornets in preseason action at Harlandale Memorial Stadium on Memorial Day afternoon, and the fan experience surpassed that of those in attendance.
“The fan experience itself, I didn’t know what to expect. I came out today with the advertising TV, but coming out, I’m enjoying every minute. It’s exciting,” said Toros fan Rueben Bravo. “We have a great team here. Our fans in those accounts support them, and it’s been an awesome experience.”
The fan energy was felt by the players throughout the game.

“We got more fans than I thought,” said wide receiver Lance Legendre. “They’re out here, they support, and they’re loud, and they’re attentive. So that’s what we need to keep going.”
Said Quarterback Will Ardnt: “It’s good, loving seeing the people out here, and I know once you start the regular season, they’re gonna come out.”
Tailgating for the home opener will start at 3:00 P.M.
To catch all the Toros action on the field, tickets are now available, including fan-ownership options.
