The Tall City Black Gold have found their home for 2026 in Astound Broadband Stadium. This is the first major announcement from Tall City since announcing their addition to the CoFL South Division. History of Astound Broadband Stadium

Astound Broadband Stadium was opened in 2002 as an addition to the Scharbauer Sports Complex. Originally named “Grande Communications Stadium” was renamed in 2022 to “Astound Broadband Stadium.” The City of Midland owns the stadium and rents the stadium out to local high school sports teams including Midland and Legacy High School Football Teams for Friday Night Lights. Astound Stadium received their first professional team in 2008 in USL League 2’s West Texas FC. West Texas FC has played in Astound since their inaugural 2008 stadium. UT Permian Basin Falcons call this stadium home for college football Saturdays. The City of Midland will rent this stadium out to multiple teams for gamedays adding the Tall City Black Gold to the schedule in 2026.

Astound Broadband Stadium fits perfectly into the CoFL Stadium Model. With holding 15,000 seats, makes it the right capacity of a smaller, more intimate stadium the CoFL prefers.
