Steven Stilianos Gets NFL Work Outs

San Antonio Brahmas’ TE Steven Stilianos worked out for the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings (NFL) and has now been signed by the Detroit Lions. Stilianos is another incredible UFL-to-NFL story. Stilianos, a 25-year-old with a diverse athletic background, was nominated as the Brahmas Sportsman of the Year. Sportsman for the UFL is like the NFL’s Walter Payton, man of the year. Nominees are players who exemplify exceptional leadership, integrity, and a profound commitment to making a difference both on the field and in the community, so the Lions won’t have to worry about off-field issues or team morale now that he is on their roster.

The 6-foot-5 TE out of Iowa is best remembered for the trick play he and Dee Anderson pulled off Week 8 against the Memphis Showboats.

Stilianos appeared in 8 games for the Brahmas in 2025 and finished the season with an 88.2 receiving percentage.  I asked Steven how his time with the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL might impact his tryout with the Buffalo Bills, and he said, “My time with the Brahmas helped me greatly prepare for this workout. I am still fresh from the UFL season and have practiced recently in an organized setting.”  Being on the field just a few weeks ago, playing live game snaps, can only increase his odds of landing a spot on the Bills Roster.

Stilianos feels good and excited about the opportunity to take the next step in his career. He went on to say, “I feel like my time with the Brahmas has kept me around football and allowed me to shine whenever NFL teams want to take another look.” It is always bittersweet seeing the Brahmas move on, but the sweet part is seeing them in the NFL, and there is always hope we get the best of both worlds when the Brahmas make an NFL roster in the fall and see the benefits of continuing to work on their skills in the spring.
