Welcome to SA Snap Count’s Guess the Player. You get five clues to name this week’s player. Clue 1 is the hardest, and each one after it gets easier. Tap a clue to open it, make your guess, and only open the next one if you’re stumped.
The answer is the player’s first and last name, and it can be any active or former player from the CoFL, UFL, XFL, USFL, or CFL. If you still don’t have it after five clues, open the answer at the bottom.
The clues
Clue 1 (hardest)
In 2012, he was named the Newark Star-Ledger State Offensive Player of the Year and helped his high school team win a state title [1].
Clue 2
He left college as his school’s all-time leader in passing yards (10,273), touchdown passes (72) and total offense, and he was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship Game [1].
Clue 3
In his first start for an AFC North team in October 2023, he helped hand the previously unbeaten San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the season, 19–17 [3].
Clue 4
He later headed north to the CFL, signing with the Calgary Stampeders in October 2024 [4][5].
Clue 5 (easiest)
Before his NFL starts in Carolina, he led the 2020 XFL in passing for the Houston Roughnecks, starting with a four-touchdown debut in a 37–17 win over the LA Wildcats [2][4].

A native of Elizabeth, N.J., he finished at Temple as the Owls’ all-time leader in passing yards, touchdown passes and total offense [1]. He went undrafted in 2017, spent time on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad, then broke out with the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks in 2020, leading the league in passing [2][4]. He started games for the Carolina Panthers and the Cleveland Browns, including the 19–17 upset of the unbeaten 49ers in October 2023, before signing with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders in 2024 [3][4][5].
